Reaching Las Vegas and Beyond with the Good News of Jesus

Word of Life Christian Center exists to connect people with God, with His Church, and with Purpose. We are committed to reaching Las Vegas and the world with the Good News of Jesus Christ, teaching believers who they are in Christ and equipping them to serve their generation in the power of the Holy Spirit.

Our vision is three directional:
Upward, Inward and Outward.
Upward in prayer and worship. Outward in evangelism. Inward in discipleship.

Mission

The heart of what we believe

Jesus Christ At The Center

At Word of Life, we are a Christ-centered community built on the unchanging truth of God’s Word. Each weekend, we see our services as a chance to welcome people home—especially those who may feel far from God. Our beliefs form the heartbeat of everything we do, shaping how we love, serve, and walk together in faith.

We believe in one eternal God, who exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is the Creator of all things and exists forever in perfect unity, inviting us into His love and fellowship (John 1:1-3,14, Matt. 28:19, 1 John 5:7).

We believe the entire Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God. It is our unchanging authority for faith, doctrine, and daily life (2 Tim. 3:15, Heb. 4:12, 2 Peter 1:20-21)

We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the perfect union of God and man. Conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary, He lived a sinless life, died as the perfect sacrifice for our sins, and rose again from the dead. Today, He reigns at the right hand of the Father, the only Mediator between God and humanity (Phil. 2:6, 2 Cor. 5:21, 1 Timothy 2:5-6). We believe salvation is a free gift of God’s grace, received not through works, but only through faith in the precious blood of Jesus Christ. By repenting, believing, and calling on the name of the Lord, we are forgiven, born again, and given eternal life (Eph. 2:8-9, 1 Peter 1:19, Rom. 6:23, 10:9-10).

We believe sin is rebellion against God’s commands, separating us from Him and leading to spiritual death. But through Jesus Christ’s redeeming work and the Holy Spirit’s renewing power, we are restored to fellowship and freedom  (1 John 3:4, Rom. 5:12,19, John 3:3,16)

We believe the baptism in the Holy Spirit is God’s promised gift to all believers following salvation. This gift empowers believers for holy living and bold witness. The initial evidence of speaking in other tongues (unknown languages) as the Holy Spirit gives the utterance is given to those who ask the Father (John 7: 38-39; Acts 1:8; 2:4; Luke 11:13)

We believe the global Church is the Body of Christ, made up of all born-again believers. Christ is the Head of His Church and has united us together, raised up leaders to equip and govern local churches, and has given gifts to each member for the purpose of encouraging one another and carrying His mission to the world (1 Cor. 12:27; Eph. 4:11-12,16).

We believe water baptism and communion are sacred ordinances given by Christ to His Church. While they are not themselves the means of salvation, they point us to its central truth. Baptism in water by immersion is a direct command of our Lord, a public testimony that we have been united with Him in His death, burial, and resurrection (Matt. 28:18; Acts 2:38; Rom. 6:4). Communion is the ongoing celebration of the New Covenant, where the bread and cup remind us of Christ’s broken body and shed blood. As we receive them often and with reverence, we proclaim His sacrifice and look forward with hope until He comes again (1 Cor. 10:16; 11:24-25)

We believe sanctification is both an instant work of grace and a lifelong process, resulting in a transformation of both character and conduct. By renewing our minds, yielding to the Spirit, and obeying God’s Word, we are continually changed to reflect Christ’s holiness (Rom. 12:1-2; 1 Thes.4:3-5; 5:23)

We believe the finished work of Jesus Christ not only provides eternal salvation, but also includes healing for the physical body and prosperity for every area of our temporal lives. These blessings of the New Covenant flow from His sacrifice and are received through prayer, faith and trust in God’s promises (Is. 53:4-5, 3, John 2, Mark 11:24)

We believe all human life is sacred, created by God in His image: spirit, soul, and body. From the very beginning, God made humanity (male and female) to know Him, to reflect His love, and to steward the earth. Because every person bears His image, we are called to honor, protect, and cherish life at every stage — from the unborn to the elderly, and including those who are physically or mentally vulnerable. Each life is a gift of immeasurable worth, created for fellowship with God and love for one another (Gen. 1:26-28, Ps. 139:13-18, Matt. 22:39).

Engagement concept. Cropped image of black couple in restaurant, woman said yes on marriage proposing

We believe marriage is a sacred covenant, established by God between one man and one woman for life. It reflects the mystery of Christ’s relationship with His Church, forms the foundation of a stable society, and provides God’s best design for raising children (Eph. 5:31-32; Heb. 13:4).

We believe God created sex to be expressed within this covenant of marriage alone. Intimate sexual activity outside of biblical marriage—including adultery, fornication, homosexual or bisexual practice, incest, bestiality, and pornography—is prohibited by God, harmful to His design for human flourishing, and therefore sinful (1 Cor. 6:9-11,18; 7:2; Rom. 1:26-27).

We believe God has wonderfully and immutably created each person male or female, equal in value yet distinct and complementary, together bearing His image (Gen. 1:27; Matt. 19:4-5). Attempts to reject or alter one’s God-given biological sex are contrary to His design and therefore sinful (Matt. 19:4-5; 1 Cor. 6:19-20).

Nonetheless, we also believe every person—regardless of faith, repentance, or self-identity—is to be treated with love, dignity, compassion, and respect, as image-bearers of God. And we believe the gospel extends mercy, forgiveness, and restoration to all who repent and turn to Christ. By the power of the Holy Spirit, believers are given strength to resist temptation and to walk in the freedom and abundance of life in Jesus (Titus 3:2-3; I John 1:9; 2 Tim. 2:19,22)

We believe in the blessed hope of the Second Coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He will return to gather His Church to Himself in the Rapture, and then visibly return with His saints to establish His Kingdom on earth. From the throne of His father David in Jerusalem, He will reign in righteousness for a thousand years—the Millennium. After this, God will bring forth a New Heaven and a New Earth, where His people will dwell with Him forever in perfect peace and glory (1 Thes. 4:16-17; Luke 1:32,33; Rev. 20:6; 21:1).

Communion. Religious tradition of breaking bread. Bread and wine as a sign of memory of Christ's sacrifice.

We believe in the bodily resurrection of all people. Believers will be raised to eternal life and inheritance in Christ’s Kingdom, receiving reward for what they have done on earth. Unbelievers will be raised to judgment and eternal punishment in the lake of fire, a real and everlasting place of torment, with the degree of retribution measured by their works done on earth (1 Cor. 15:52; 2 Cor. 5:10, Rev. 20:12; 22:12).
